Abstract

Typical food reflects the identity of a region and culinary diversity owned by an area. However, object recognition through 2-dimensional media is considered not interesting and it is difficult for people who are not familiar with these special foods to understand the characteristics of the food more clearly. On the other hand, in an era of ever-evolving digital technology, TechnologyAugmented Reality (AR) which combines 3D virtual objects with the real world has become one of the innovative tools in the culinary field. The use of Augmented Reality technology as an introduction to Typical Foods from East Java is an effective and interesting way to introduce regional culinary varieties to the wider community, and to decide to try and be interested in enjoying these foods. Based on the problems above, researchers will develop an application "Augmented Reality as a media for the introduction of East Javanese Special FoodsMetode Marker Based Tracking Android based”. Food 3D objects are created using Blender 3D, while the Augmented Reality Application as a medium for introducing East Javanese Specialty Foods is designed using Unity 3D software in the form of android which will run digitally on smartphones.
