Abstract

Technological developments that continue to develop in this modern era have significantly made human tasks easier in various fields. One form of technological progress is the existence of an object detection system. This progress can be utilized for various needs such as in the security aspect. In this era, the use of motorized vehicles is increasingly showing an increase. Many people prefer to use private vehicles such as cars rather than using public transportation. So, with the vehicle number plate recognition system, it is hoped that it can help make work easier and time efficient. This research aims to implement a car number plate recognition system using the Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) method. The use of deep learning architectural methods and image processing in a vehicle number plate recognition system is important because it allows the extraction of the necessary information from the number plate image, such as shape, color and texture characteristics as well as object detection. This method provides adaptability to various environmental conditions and image variations, allows the system to recognize number plates accurately and can be integrated with other systems, thereby increasing overall system efficiency, speed and scalability.
