Abstract

This study aims to determine the optimal reading distance of Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) using the Adaptive Neuro-Fuzzy Inference System (ANFIS) method. This method is applied to analyze various environmental conditions affecting RFID reading performance, including wet and dry conditions, the position of the tag behind the reader, and the reading interval. The results indicate that the optimal reading distance is 4 cm in wet conditions, 4.5 cm in dry conditions, and 0.5 cm when the tag is behind the reader, with a minimum interval time of 3 seconds. Determining the optimal reading distance is expected to assist administrators in designing effective usage rules to maximize the performance of the RFID system and minimize potential misuse.
