Abstract

The design and development of this web-based School Management Information System, using the
Laravel framework and Tailwind CSS, was undertaken to address the challenges of conventional
academic administration. The system’s development followed the Waterfall Methodology, which
encompasses the stages of requirements analysis, design, implementation, testing, and maintenance.
This application is equipped with key features such as Alpine.js-based triple dropdown navigation,
Auto-Generate Ledger with PhpSpreadsheet, data visualization via Chart.js, and time-based security
for grade entry periods using custom middleware and SweetAlert2. Based on black-box testing, all
functional modules were proven to operate with a 100 percent success rate, confirming that the system
is stable, accurate, and suitable for implementation to optimize school operations.
