Abstract

The development of food production is still not stable, even though food is one of the main consumption of society today. Various ways to fulfill domestic food needs through expansion of area, product intensification, and import. Therefore, the fulfillment of food needs within a country is an absolute must be fulfilled. In addition, food also holds important and strategic policy in Indonesia based on its social, economic, and political influence. In the framework of this mapping cluster includes suppliers industry, core industry, buyer industry, supporting industries and related industries. This research was conducted to map priority food commodities covering supply chain through industrial cluster approach and to identify any superior commodities owned by each region / regency in West Java Province. The method of analysis used in this research is Location Quotient (LQ) method of analysis with Interpretation of LQ value. Of the 7 commodities studied, the following areas / districts are the center / cluster or the main food commodity base of Pajale (rice, corn and soybeans). Rice commodity base are Regency of Cianjur, Ciamis, Cirebon, Majalengka, Indramayu, Subang, Karawang, Bekasi, Pangandaran, followed by city of Sukabumi,  Bandung, Tasikmalaya, and Banjar. For commodity of corn area which become base are Regency of Bandung, Garut, Majalengka, Sumedang and of West Bandung. As for the soybean commodity areas that become the base are Regency of Sukabumi, Cianjur, Garut, Ciamis, Indramayu, West Bandung, and Pangandaran.
